The Quote
That's very nice if they want to publish you, but don't pay too much attention to it. It will toss you away. Just continue to write.

*wonders what ever happened to three-muses?*

Maybe we need a 'missing in act-two' thread.

My motivation went AWOL. Not out of nowhere, though; I got bogged down with work, work and more work (day job: accounting, freelance job: graphic design). It's like, I just got the perfect way to finish out the book, but it involves writing random scenes and basting around them.

Except I just do not have words. I see the characters in my head, doing their thing, but I cannot actually WRITE IT DOWN.

ARGH!

Thing is, I do great with sprints, word challenges and the such. It's just the fact that my writing brain decided that now is the ideal time to draw a blank!!

LadyMage, when my days are going like that, I set a daily goal of 100 words. 100 words is manageable no matter what (pretty much) and keeps you going. Even if you don't keep them. Eventually the words will come back.

I just hit 1250 more words onto my overall word count. On the serious, screw doing this thing in order; I mapped out my scenes, and I may as well write out of order and get everything together. In a single word, egad.

I'm thinking I need to take Katrina's way of doing things. I've had A LOT of time off lately due to hour cutting (almost every morning) and have been feeling like I'm wasting the time (which is making me depressed and not writing). I just need to go in the mornings to the library or Starbucks, and write instead of waiting here. Just need to change the hubby thinking that a morning off doesn't mean he can sleep through the entire AM and I'll watch the two younger kids.

depending how little they are, you might use my method--pack them and your writing up and head to McDonald's. I was able to send my daughter into a contained, safe play area to scream and play while I sat just outside, kept an eye on her, drank coffee, and wrote.

In case the hubby whines about actually being supportive.
