I'm having fun on my rewriting also, but I think the first draft is a lot easier, and since I did it with Nanowrimo it felt a bit more fun.

I'm trying to handle an editing-writing-related internal conflict right now.
I have to keep editing! But then there is this other story I want to work on... It's such an intriguing idea... and it's for a competition. The deadline is on May and it's a short story, so I have a bit of time... but I should get started if I want to do a good job.
But editing! I need to edit! I need to finish editing by May also, if I want the Create Space offer that I got on Nano for a free copy of my novel.
Should I work on both stories at the same time? I think I have no other choice.
*Goes back to editing. Will start writing tomorrow, or tonight?*

I'd be taking notes on the other story when stuff occurred to me, and pushing forward with the editing. When you can't put off writing anymore, THAT is the point to start.

Yeah, I guess I'll just keep writing notes and soing a bit of reasearch. (I didn't start writing the day I said I would). My main focus should be editing! I will continue editing! (Once I get to my own computure where I have all my files.)

I'm juggling both a first draft and an edit, and it's working for me (although YMMV). I work on whichever one I feel like (usually that's the first draft during the week and the edit on the weekend), and I don't bother too much about which one is making more headway.

I got through most of VE's Chapter 8 over the weekend. The first scene still isn't quite working, and I think there are one or two other things that need fixing. The plan is to finish those up tonight so I can send the chapter around to my critique group.

After that I have two more chapters of entirely new material to write before I hit the part where something actually exists on paper.

Who is planning on doing EdMo, whether officially or just "editing in March?"

I'm doing it, though I'm not sure yet how officially.

I'm doing it as "Not joining the forum but doing 50 hours of editing in March."

How do we want to do it over here? Do we want a dedicated group, or just an open thread?

I'm more in favor of an open thread, so people feel they can jump in late should they feel the urge.
