In the 2009 thread, there were a few people who expressed interest in doing a 2010 AugNoWriMo, so here it is. AugNo is name your own goal (anything from 1,000 to 100,000 or anything else you want) and can be done on an already-started project.

So what's everyone thinking about? I'm probably aiming for between 20,000 and 25,000 words on the novel I'm already working on. Anyone else?


Hopefully starting the thread this early will get everyone pumped up. I know I've had problems motivating myself this year.

No thanks, I'm barely making it through JulNo! Then again...I could continue my new novel through AugNo.. but I think I'll have to stop either the 16th or 23rd.. depending on school stuff.. And I'd rather do it goal-less/limitless, so I can be satisfied wherever I end up in it. Of course, it's not going to be finished in 2 months time... so... yeah. I mean, I basically "finished" my NaNo in THAT month and a little bit of December. Like the first two days, but I dont think i can do the same with this one... Maybe next NaNo instead of continuing my series I'll keep writing this piece.

I'm in for at least 20,000. I've still got some mss to finish, and my DH's fingers need something to type.

I'm in for at least 20,000. I'll have a better idea of exactly how many I want to do come a few weeks, when I see how far behind schedule I am. But I'd like to use August to hit the 70K mark (at the least).

I shall cheer! August is my craziest month (I'm registrar of a school, and go back to MADNESS after two months off in August) so I won't be joining in.

Looks like I have a reason to do AugNo this year, and that reason is Spanner. I've put the prequels aside, especially Bad Company, which actually burned me out on the first day of AugNo '08. And of course I'll be doing the usual 50K. I'll need to take regular breaks so I can write songs for 50/90, though. I'll also take short editing breaks, for I intend to start posting Spanner on my project blog, chapter by chapter, soon.

I've chosen to continue my JulNo through AugNo. BUT I'll only be able to write until either the 16th or 23rd, and then I'll stop probably...Yeah.


I'll be cheering for you all as well when I'm not writing.

I was going to say no because I'm doing JulNoWriMo as well, but I like DimiTheDominator's suggestion - I think I might just continue JulNoWriMo into August.

After all, my JulNoWriMo goal was 25K and right now I'll be lucky if I make half of that.

I'm in, but as for what amount I'm in for is undetermined. Right now my muse isn't cooperating. She doesn't want to write about what we've been working on, she wants something new. I've got to decide what to do before Aug No. . .

I'm in, provided I don't forget in the next 2 weeks.

I move into my new (rental) house the weekend of the 1st, but after that I shouldn't have anything to do until the 30th (even the jobs I'm applying for shouldn't start until late Aug./early Sept., if I get any of them). And my girlfriend will be out of the house at least 4 hours a day working at her assistantship.
